I got my inspiration from soccer crests from popular teams for example West Ham and Arsenal. I asked family for advice and I was able to list a couple of things to put in my crest. 

I had trouble choosing a third square. I’m first generation so there isn’t much family history. My least favorite square are the cacti it looks off to me. Also one side of the banner is longer than the other.
